Makeup Inspos From the VMAs - Livon Style Tribe

It’s one of the biggest music awards nights of the year and artists are known to bring their best for the world to see. And the VMAs this year weren’t a disappointment! One of the major trends to emerge from the show is Goth-glam, quite the antithesis to Barbiecore, which has been ruling fashion and makeup choices.

Chamomile is an all-natural ingredient which is known for its soothing properties. It also helps heal skin, which means that it will help with cell turnover too.

Taylor Swift is back! She wore a glitzy dress and gave us full red carpet glam with her red lipstick. Euphoria fever was strong here with her eye jewels that added extra glam to a simple winged black liner.

Avril Lavigne showed us how emo style will never go out of fashion. She matched her orange hair with her eye makeup and created a complementary smoky and glimmer look with lower lash accents. Unlike Swift, who wore red lipstick with eye stickers, Lavigne kept her lips nude, with all the focus on her eyes.

Different shades of nude lips were a big hit at the VMAs! BLACKPINK, who matched each other in all-black, all did different versions of dusty rose nudes to match their skin tones. Singer Dove Cameron did a gentle blur, glossy nude to match her

angled smoky eye, with white on the waterline. We saw many 2022 versions of the Y2K outlined lip look. Some stars stuck to the original look too where the outline starkly contrasts the lip colour and a gloss is added for extra glamour. For the 2022 edit though, all you have to do is blur your outline with a blending brush. You can use two glossy colours or creamy mattes too.

Fab hair for Diwali - Livon Style Tribe

It’s that time of the year when you get to wear your finest desi outfits and go all-out glam with your hair and makeup. It’s all about bright colours and easy hairstyles as there are so many things to do on Diwali too, of course, in addition to celebrating with your loved ones. Here are four easy hairstyles you could try for Diwali 2022.

The Messy Updo

If you have a layered haircut, this style works best for a dainty yet casual hairdo. It works for long hair lengths and medium too. Here’s what you need to do..

  1. Use your fingers to comb through your hair so that it is loose and tie a ponytail. Don’t make a very tight ponytail. You can make a low one or a mid-level pony depending on your hair length and where you want your bun to be.
  2. Wrap your hair around the pony and secure it with an elastic. You can also make a loose French knot.
  3. Use the end of a tail comb to loosen a few strands around the face. Use Livon Anti-Frizz Serum to ease away flyaways. You can add a few dainty flowers to the bun or stick rhinestones to your scalp to finish.

A Sleek Updo

This works for short or long lengths as you have to slick everything down.

  1. For long hair, create a middle-parted ponytail. For short hair, create a low ponytail. Gel all your hair back.
  2. Tie into a tight bun and secure with pins. For short hair, just fold up the rest of your hair with pins and secure them.
  3. Wrap a jasmine strand around the bun. For a small bun, just add one small flower.

Semi Braids

  1. This hairstyle works for long or short hair. Create a side partition and braid one side of your hair.
  2. Leave the rest naturally wavy or straight in case of a blunt bob. For extra shine during Diwali, Use Livon Super Styler Serum and flat iron your hair for a sleek, braided look.

The Messy Ponytail

It’s festive season but if casual cool is your vibe, go for the messy ponytail, which will leave you to celebrate at ease too.

  1. Finger comb your hair.
  2. Backcomb your hair on top to create some volume.
  3. Secure with an elastic and apply a little hairspray to keep your messy pony in place.
  4. Loosen a few strands around the face for a natural look.
  5. Finish with a dainty maang tika.

Be it any festival, what’s guaranteed is that you have many errands to run, and you have no control over what you are eating, but the fun is worth it. This festive month begins with Navratri and then Diwali, which means that you are going to eat a lot of sweet and fried delicacies, you’ll be wearing makeup longer, and will

probably be too tired to take it off completely before you go to bed. And with card parties and alcohol on the menu too, your skin has a lot to take in this season. Add late nights to this, it means that your skin is under more stress, making it oilier, inflamed and it might probably break out too.

For this, remember to include lots of greens and fruits in your diet. Both provide essential antioxidants that help you keep looking younger, and the fibre means that your gut is clear and your face is too. Drinking enough water means that you are hydrating your skin well, which helps in its upkeep, especially when it starts to get colder. In addition to this, here are certain ingredients to look for in skincare to help calm your tired and inflamed skin at the end of the season.

Semi Braids

Chamomile is an all-natural ingredient which is known for its soothing properties. It also helps heal skin, which means that it will help with cell turnover too.

Glycolic and Salicylic acid

Products, especially face washes with glycolic acid, azelaic acid, and salicylic acid, help tackle excessive oiliness and resulting clogged pores. You can also use them in the form of a toner to add them to your routine in fewer proportions.

Bisabolol

This active ingredient is derived from chamomile. It is hydrating, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and soothing. It also has antioxidant properties and can help with different signs of ageing, including fine lines and pigmentation.

Centella asiatica

Centella asiatica or cica is also known as gotu kola. It’s great for wound healing. It has anti-inflammatory properties making it great for sensitive skin, especially in this season.

Bakuchiol

Hailed as the less aggressive alternative to retinol, bakuchiol has many benefits. So for somebody with sensitive skin, plant-based retinol like bakuchiol might do the trick, without drying out. You can look for ingredients such as squalene in your bakuchiol product to aid skin hydration as it repairs and heals your acne too.

Azelaic acid

Azelaic acid makes for a good ingredient in your face wash as it helps clogged pores. Azelaic acid and its derivatives have anti-acne, anti-inflammatory, and anti-marks properties as it encourages cell turnover. It is calming too. It’s an all-in-one ingredient that is available in different formulations and products.

Blackpink's MV fashion - Livon Style Tribe

BLACKPINK is back! We did get a bit of their dose with Lisa’s hit singles but the girls are together in full force for their newest song, Pink Venom. The favourite K-pop girl group has been dropping hints about their upcoming album, Born Pink, and Pink Venom has just made fans want more. The peppy song has many inspos for your outfits. As the name suggests, the fashion in the MV is also edgy and dangerous.

Jennie starts by looking ravishing in red, in a red leopard lace bodysuit and a mini bubble dress; her chunky black heels add to the oomph. Her braided updo is perfect for the festive season with the flower too. Jennie is seen again in another K-pop favourite, pearl chains and a sporty look in a football jersey and a skirt. Jennie shows us that long hair and braids are still going to be the top hair trend till the end

of the year. She sports the hairdo with a jacket with patches worn with shorts and a denim top. Jennie sports braids for one more look too, telling us that if you are a Jennie fan, that’s the look for you.

Lisa too sports long hair with a messy, edgy skirt and cutout gloves and heels. You can wear cutout gloves for

a fun night out with jeans and a t-shirt too. Add some bling like Lisa to double the cool quotient! Another easy-to-try look by Lisa is that of a sports bra worn with a red jersey and overalls. Chunky boots finish her comfy look. Lisa also gives an ode to Y2K fashion in a pastel halter top giving it a 2022 twist with colourful baggy pants. Lisa also wears neutral baggy pants, and a leather skirt for another look and makes it interesting by layering a casual top with a woven bralette.

One of our favourite looks of Rosé is her corset top worn with cutout pants. She mainly serves many all-black looks in the video, playing with different materials and textures. Jisoo’s bubble braid and off-shoulder top are effortlessly cool, showing us why BLACKPINK's MVs are not just high glam but have wearable looks too. Jisoo also serves many athleisure looks, and our favourite is her lip ring, which can make the most simple outfit look edgy.
